It was a fun packed day at the Relays at Barnsley College for Year 1/2. Working together in their teams they tried to complete each of the races in the quickest time possible. Each of the races challenged different skills such as coordination, balance, speed and agility and gave each team plenty of tests. They completed the relays with a great attitude and expressing themselves while completing each race.

KEY STAGE 2 SOUTH YORKSHIRE CROSS COUNTRY @ CANNON HALL

Well done to all the teams who took part in the KS2 South Yorkshire Cross Country at Cannon Hall. It was great to see so many runners participating and being active from Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham & Sheffield.  A huge thanks to Penistone Footpath Runners for providing marshalls to help us run the event and also a massive thanks to all the parents that came to cheer the runners on. Thank you to Yorkshire Sport for helping organise and providing the great certificates, medals and trophies. There were 11 teams in each race that had made it through due to their hard work and commitment.

Barnsley really did us proud with some amazing results, it was a real honour to be part of the event and to see so many Barnsley teams doing well and making Barnsley Brill!

FOOTBALL MULTI SKILLS INTRA COMP @ JOSEPH LOCKE

It was a fantastic day at Joseph Locke for our Football Multi Skills. We had many activities ranging from Football Dribble, Football Weave and Throw ins. It tested all the football skills for the future and there was some great technique and talent on show. We had Foundation to Year 1, it was good to see all the kids trying and having a good time. They all had big smiles on their faces while giving maximum effort. A big thanks for Joseph Locke for allowing us to do this event and a big well done to everyone who took part.

UNDER 14S, UNDER 16S, BOYS & GIRLS TABLE TENNIS SCHOOL GAMES

We ran the Under 14 & Under 16 Table Tennis competition Thursday at Outwood Carlton Academy with 8 teams taking part for the afternoon. We were lucky to have some great facilities from Carlton, so all this competition could not have been possible if not for their support.

The teams played every team within the hall and battled hard to try and out play their opposition. Only one team from each competition could take the title of the table tennis champions though. The standard was fab with some great serves and rallies.

KS2 POLYBAT @ JOSEPH LOCKE

It was a great day at Joseph Locke last week for our KS2 Polybat Competition. We had plenty of children there to try this interesting sport which allows everyone to have a go. We had over 50 children trying this exciting event. It was great to see all the children giving it a go while having great smiles on their faces. It went nice and smooth due to us having some superb Joseph Locke leaders to help.
